2026 Candidates: Board of Directors Election
The Combustion Institute Board of Directors Nominating Committee, chaired by Terese Løvås has selected, and CI President Hai Wang has approved, the following slate of 14 candidates for the 2026 Board of Directors election. To ensure continued diversity on The Combustion Institute Board of Directors, the Nominations Committee worked hard to develop a balanced slate of candidates. Please review the candidate profiles, presented below in alphabetical order. Each profile consists of a photograph of the candidate, a one-page statement, and curriculum vitae.
The CI Membership will elect seven directors from the slate of candidates. Members will be able to vote electronically using the
single transferable vote (STV) election process first implemented in 2014. Consistent with the Board’s goal of increasing diversity, the election will use a modified STV process to ensure at least one female candidate, at least one industry candidate, and at least one candidate from an underrepresented region is elected. Voting will be open 1-30 June 2026. Registered CI members will receive an email ballot, with weekly reminders to those who have not voted.
Election of directors is conducted biennially. Directors serve six-year terms. Please refer to
The Combustion Institute By-Laws for more information about the Board of Directors. Questions regarding the election may be directed to:
