Change of dates for 41st ISOC WiPP Submissions and Decisions

The dates for the submission and processing of the Work in Progress Posters (WiPP) for the 41st International Symposium on Combustion have changed. We are adjusting these dates to better serve our members who require additional time to make travel arrangements and secure the necessary documentation.

The WiPP submission portal will open on 23 February 2026 and close on 1 April 2026. Decisions regarding the WiPP submissions will be sent to authors throughout the submission period, with all decisions communicated by 15 April 2026. Information about formatting and submitting your abstract will be provided, along with a sample submission.

Authors will be required to submit a one-page abstract with distinct sections for introduction/background/aims, methods, results, conclusions, and up to one figure. A sample abstract can be found here. Authors must indicate their choice of colloquium when submitting. More information about the colloquium categories can be found in the Call for Papers. Submissions will be evaluated on the basis of the one-page abstracts, a full-length paper is not required. Accepted authors will receive instructions about poster formatting and printing after 15 April 2026.

The WiPP sessions provide a forum for presentation and discussion of works in progress. Posters presented in WiPP sessions will not be published in the Proceedings of The Combustion Institute. The sessions will be organized by the Work-in-Progress Poster Co-Chairs: Jackson Crane, Queen's University, Canada; Waruna Kulatilaka, Texas A&M University, United States; Huangwei Zhang, National University of Singapore, Singapore and placed in a location within the Kyoto Convention Center that is accessible to all attendees and conducive to interactions, thus encouraging discussion.
