U.S. GOVERNMENTAL EMPLOYEES INTENDING TO SUBMIT to the 41st International Symposium on Combustion
Due to the shutdown of the U.S. Government, we understand that certain authors are prevented from completing their research or obtaining approval, and are therefore, unable to submit their completed papers for ISOC consideration by the deadline of 12 November 2025. For this reason, the Program Co-Chairs have created an exception for these authors, allowing them to submit and participate at the Symposium. This exception/extension ONLY applies to papers that are authored/co-authored by U.S. governmental employees and contractors, which require government approval for submission, and are unable to submit a completed paper by 12 November 2025 (23:59 PST).
No other extensions or exceptions will be granted.
Authors whose papers fall in this category and are unable to submit a completed paper by 12 November 2025 must adhere to the following steps for their submission to be considered for presentation at the Symposium.
- Submit a one-page “Holding Paper” by the submission deadline of 12 November 2025 (23:59 PST). Follow these detailed instructions provided here.
- Authors will be required to submit their completed 4-page paper within two weeks of the U.S. Government opening. In the event the shutdown is not resolved by the end of 2025, the PCCs will evaluate and communicate updates.
Detailed instructions on how to ensure your paper is eligible for consideration are available on the 41st International Symposium on Combustion
website. Authors must follow the instructions to qualify for an extension and must follow the rules guiding the construction of their completed paper according to the documents and templates available on the ISOC website.
