40 Under 40: E-Lecture Series on Combustion Calendar

For some time, the Belgian Section of The Combustion Institute has been organizing a lecture series highlighting 40 young scientists and engineers who have done high-quality research in combustion. These 50-minute sessions are held virtually via Zoom, presenting a valuable opportunity for attendees to learn about past, current, and future research activities in the field. A list of upcoming sessions can be found below, along with hyperlinks to their listing where available (all times are in CET):

• 11 October at 15:00: Federica Ferraro (TU Braunschweig, Germany)
• 18 October at 15:00: Rachel Schwind (Univ. of Edinburgh, UK)
• 25 October at 09:00: Alfonso Chinnici (Univ. of Adelaide, Australia)
• 8 November at 15:00: Francesca De Domenico (TU Delft, The Netherlands)
• 15 November at 12:00: Tim Franken (BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg, Germany)
• 22 November at 15:00: Sven Eckart (TU Bergakademie Freiberg, Germany)
• 13 December at 15:00: Pierre Brequigny (Université d’Orléans, France)

In addition to the already-scheduled sessions, we encourage you to reach out to Prof. Salvatore Iavarone (salvatore.iavarone@centralesupelec.fr, salvatore.iavarone@ulb.be), one of the organizers of the series, if you are interested in participating as the featured speaker during a session.

If there is a Friday during which you would like to offer your time as a speaker, please reach out to Prof. Iavarone and include the following materials/information:

• Bio: A brief biography outlining your background, current position, and key achievements in the field of combustion research.
• Topic: A concise summary of the content you intend to cover during your lecture, highlighting its relevance to combustion research.
• Tentative Title: A proposed title for your lecture that should capture the essence of your presentation.
