The 3rd International Combustion Institute-Summer School on Near-Wall Reactive Flows was held from 10-13 June at TU Darmstadt in Darmstadt, Germany. Under the leadership of the Organizing Committee, made up of Prof. Dr. Andreas Dreizler, Prof. Dr. Olaf Deutschmann, and Dr. Andrea Gruber, more than 80 participants from over 15 nations took part in the program. This CI-SS featured lectures from 11 internationally-renowned scientists on a variety of topics. Special attention was paid to the exchange of ideas through the implementation of three poster sessions and poster pitches, as well as a mentoring program. This gave the participants ample opportunities to network and exchange ideas.

Also featured was a tour of the Combustion and Heat-Transfer Laboratories at TU Darmstadt. This tour provided an interesting and practical context to the lectures. The tour concluded with a pleasant gathering in the TU beer garden.
