International Multidimensional Engine Modeling Meeting
The International Multidimensional Engine Modeling User's Group Meeting at the SAE Congress, is organized in association with the Engine Research Center, University of Wisconsin-Madison and Michigan Technological University, in Detroit Downtown at 12:00 - 5:30 pm on April 8, 2019. This time and place is chosen because it is expected that many engine modeling code users will be attending the Society of Automotive Engineers Congress and Exhibition to be held in Detroit, Michigan, on April 9-11. The purpose of the conference is to encourage the exchange of information about engine modeling and to help promote the use of engine modeling by the engine industry.
This meeting will accept papers which feature applications of CFD codes and the development of novel submodels for engine simulations. The agenda of the meeting will be available on March 8 at https://www.erc.wisc.edu/imem/agenda.php. The archive papers of 2008-2018 meetings can be found at: https://www.erc.wisc.edu/imem/papers.php.
Presentations may encompass applications of CFD codes in the real engine geometry, development of innovative submodels for engine processes, and integration of CFD codes with other simulation tools for new engine designs. Applications of commercial packages by code users, e.g., Star-CD, FIRE, Fluent, Vectis, FORTE, CONVERGE, OpenFOAM, etc., to engine simulations are especially welcome. The presenter of accepted papers will be given a gratis admission to this event. If you are interested in sponsoring this event, please contact Michael Andrie at 608-263-1615, mandrie@wisc.edu.
The presentations will end at approximately 5:30 pm and the meeting will be followed by a reception. Registration fee is $150 US on or before March 27. An additional fee of $50 US will be charged for later registrations. The registration fee is to help defray the cost for the reception and facilities. If you plan to attend the meeting, you may register on-line at: https://www.erc.wisc.edu/imem/registration.php. Please complete a registration form regardless of whether you wish to present a paper.
Important deadlines are:
--January 25: Offer of presentation (by email to yra@mtu.edu with proposed paper title and authors)
--March 1: Extended Abstract Due (by email to yra@mtu.edu, no more than 6 pages with page size of 8.5 inches times 11 inches in MS Word or PDF format)
--March 8: Notification of Acceptance and Presentation Schedule finalized
