The 2nd Asia-Pacific Combustion Institute Summer School (APCISS-2) on Fundamental Combustion Problems in Outdoor Fires, hosted by the Chilean Section of The Combustion Institute, took place in Valparaiso and Vina del Mar, Chile, from 4-9 December 2022. The school brought together graduate students, postdocs, faculty members, and industrial researchers from over 15 different countries in North and South America, Europe, and Asia.

The Combustion Institute has recently approved four programs for the 2023 CI Summer School initiative. Based on a strict review of submitted proposals, comprehensive programs were approved for Princeton University (United States), University of California, Irvine (United States), Joinville (Brazil), and Tsinghua University (China).
