It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of former board member, Jack Howard on 7 July 2008 in Cambridge, MA. Retired from MIT in 2002, Jack remained active in the combustion community through his company, Nano-C, a leading developer of nanostructured carbon materials.  The PrIMe - Process Informatics Model - initiative is officially launched. PrIMe is a new approach for developing predictive models of chemical reaction systems that is based on the scientific collaboratory paradigm and takes advantage of existing and developing cyber infrastructure.
