It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of former board member, Jack Howard on 7 July 2008 in Cambridge, MA. Retired from MIT in 2002, Jack remained active in the combustion community through his company, Nano-C, a leading developer of nanostructured carbon materials. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday 16 July at Park Street Church in Boston. Additional information is available at the Howard family blog:  http://howardupdates.blogspot.com.

 The PrIMe - Process Informatics Model - initiative is officially launched. PrIMe is a new approach for developing predictive models of chemical reaction systems that is based on the scientific collaboratory paradigm and takes advantage of existing and developing cyber infrastructure.
